A while back I wrote about Wesley Snipes and all his excuses he made about not paying his taxes for all those years. This was back when they let us all believe he was just getting a slap on the wrist like most celebrities that break the law. Well, the judge decided that unfortunately won’t be the case for Snipes. Therefore, he will be made a public example to all the non-tax paying citizens residing in the USA.

Last February Snipes was convicted for three misdemeanor charges for not filing taxes. He apparently did not think the government had any right to his money so he just didn’t pay. He was sentenced up to 3 years in a Federal prison, but they only see him having to fulfill about two and a half of those years; seeing he has good behavior. His attorney and friends were hoping it would be a lesser sentence. Denzel Washington and Woody Harrelson even wrote some sweet letters about Wesley’s good character in attempt to convince the judge to take it easy on Snipes. It sadly did not work on the judge.

Snipes did not have to surrender right away; they will persue that at a later date when he is at his home. So, he has time to think about all his money that he really will have to do without because he was too much above the law to pay his taxes.
