Heath Ledger to do Brokeback Mountain Sequel
I am quite doubtful that this will actually happen but if it does I’m not quite sure what the point is. I mean, Brokeback Mountain was a whole lot of gay mountain man action, do we really need or want more? Hell, Jake, the real gay, won’t even be in it cause he got killed off. The sequel, according to OK! Magazine, will be about Heath Ledger’s character, Ennis, coming out and struggling with being a gay man in the 60’s. Umm, boring! I don’t think Brokeback Mountain part 2 can compete against classic “gay struggle” movie Philadelphia so it shouldn’t try! Seriously, Heath Ledger is hot but he’s no Tommy Hanks!
Yes, we need and want more gay mountain man action. If you’re not ready, nobody’s holding a gun to your head and making you watch.
Obviously, we’re not going to see Heath reprise his role, but I’m completely ready for the next big-budget, big-director, big-stars, critically acclaimed, money-making gay love story, and maybe this time the movie will end before either of the lovers dies.
I agree with the author. I don’t see any points to have the sequel to the movie. Let Ennis be by himself in his solitude. That what makes the story so touching and sad. UNLESS, Ang Lee will bring back Jake from death, but that will ruin the whole romantic touch of the first movie.
I agree with Thomas A., I am also ready for the next Hollywood mainstream gay-focused movies. For the stars, hmmm…maybe we can have Ryan Phillipe and Ryan Reynolds as a couple. SEXY!
Heath Ledger, R.I.P., you will be missed.
