Dog the Bounty Hunter is Back on A&E

I guess repeatedly using the N word and lashing out in a racist tirade is a-okay with A&E because they’ve put Duane “Dog” Chapman back on the air. I guess when you’re their highest rated reality show then they’ll make exceptions, racist or not, huh A&E? TMZ reports:
A network official confirms to TMZ that the show is going back into production, but they’ve not yet set a premiere date. As of now, they’re gearing up — big time — in Hawaii and production will begin ASAP. Makeup artists and camera crews have been hired, and houses and cars have been rented, all for the return of the show.
I’m not thrilled about Dog being put back on the air but my fiance will be. He loves watching that show. I think cause he likes how Dog always tries to talk sense into these criminals and give them some hopes and whatnot. I, on the other hand, am not a softie when it comes to this stuff and think Dog should back hand those ingrates and kick them out of the car as they drive by the jail. But that’s just me.
What do you all think, will Dog being back on television start a big controversy? You can bet those old ladies on The View will mull over this for a couple episodes. Who knows, maybe we’ll get another split-screen fight and get rid of Whoopie? One can only dream.
Just because he was caught making a racist comment does not mean he should never work again. His show has nothing to do with that. However, I do think it’s funny when Dog prays before going after criminals then shouts the F work when he’s chasing them.
I don’t care about his sayings – I like the show very much.
And praying doesn’t mean you can’t curse – just go to confession and everything is ok after it – that’s how Christians go by…
Anuschka, you must be thinking of Catholics, not Christians in general.
I don’t think Dog should have said the things he did, but it happened. He has apologized for it. You can’t beat someone up forever because they used a bad choice of words.
I am glad they are putting him back on the air, I was outraged that they were punishing him for a private call, no one agrees with what he says but his rights were violated…and that was what should have been emphasized…not just the horrible things he said. I am a fan and will always be a fan!
I am so happy to see a dog back on the air. Should Kramer not be on seinfield because of the N word, no. I belive dog is a very good person with morals. but haven’t we all been a little rasicst even as we speak?
YaY!!! Dog The Bounty Hunter is back!!! You can’t keep a good man down!!!
I live in Hawaii half the year, in Honolulu, and I have to say that while this whole issue is complex, there is one thing Duane Chapman forgot. Hawaii is very multi cultural, & very unforgiving when the people who truly are kama a’aina feel they have been maligned. As for his self portrayal as the ambassador of Aloha? I have yet to meet any one on Oahu who thinks that’s an accurate statement,in fact it irritates and emabarrases true Hawaiians who consider the whole Chapman clan trailer trash who should have stayed in Denver, CO. He had a job before the TV show, and he’ll have one if he never has another spot on A&E. It’s too bad A&E caved to let this blatant racist back on the air. It sends our kids the message that they too can get away with anything, which is unfortunately becoming the case with parents like the Chapman’s out there.
I am so happy that dog is coming back!!!! I stopped watching A&E when they suspended his show. I have something to say to the people who got so outraged out what he said… Build yourself a bridge and GET OVER IT!!! There are alot worse things to worry about than dog saying the N word.
We have ALL said things in private that we wouldn’t want public. EVERYONE has. Period. End of story. Pompous and pious attitudes and judgment are just as bad as racism.
I think Duane Chapman has done FAR more good than bad. Is calling someone “trailer trash” not a judgmental statement? Given that, is racism not “judgment” of another based on race? Loosen up Charlotte. What have you done good for Hawaii while you live 6 mos. out of the year there? Hawaii has SERIOUS drug problems. Have you helped or turned a blind eye to that?
I am glad Dog the Bounty Hunter is back. Frankly, kids can see that people aren’t perfect and even with our imperfections we can do good things and when we make a mistake, it doesn’t negate every single good thing we have done. WELCOME BACK DOG! I can now watch A&E again too!
I am a big fan of Dog! He made a mistake, that is all. He is and was sorry. You cannot punish someone forever. He shouldn’t have said what he did. I can tell Dog’s heart though, and he is not a mean man. I am ecstatic he is coming back! Will be watching each and every episode! Go Dog and Beth!!!
Welcome back dog and Beth, we have missed you both, I am not sure when it became ok to punish someone for a private conversation, and I think it is a very scary thought when people start losing jobs because of what happens in their private, sometimes weaker moments.
As far as what we are teaching our children, I think the message needs to be, when you make the mistakes you pay the price–then we move on.
I suppose some of the people in this forum are perfect and have never needed forgiveness for mistakes.
its funny how when don imus says something
like nappy headed hoes every one is in a rage and no forgivness for him but when the dog says niger because he is more popular its ok?
