Scott Weiland Kicked Out of Velvet Revolver

According to a press release, Velvet Revolver no longer have a lead singer. “This band is all about its fans and its music and Scott Weiland isn’t 100% committed to either,” Slash reportedly said (the group’s split with Weiland was confirmed by Sanctuary management). “Among other things, his increasingly erratic onstage behavior and personal problems have forced us to move on.” Last week, Weiland and drummer Matt Sorum engaged in a war of words via the press and blog posts, and yesterday Billboard reported that Weiland will announce a full set of tour dates with his old band, Stone Temple Pilots, on April 7th.

Last week Weiland told a Glasgow crowd that the band was on its last tour. When Sorum blogged about the incident, Weiland responded angrily via Blabbermouth, lambasting his bandmate while boasting of his own record sales (”35 million copies worldwide”) and professionalism “regardless of how many drugs I’ve ingested into my system.” Weiland voluntarily entered rehab in February, which forced the cancellation of some concert dates. Just yesterday Slash was quoted as saying the band will make a third album with or without Weiland, insisting, “We don’t know how or when but the core four guys will continue.”

Scott Weiland is in Rehab

Unless you’re a Velvet Revolver fan, you probably aren’t sure who Scott Weiland is. Let me fill you in. In November, Scott crashed his car on a freeway in Los Angeles. Last March, Scott was in the news because he and his wife were having marital problems and she burned $10,000 worth of his clothes. Dram! For the last couple of years Scott has been non-stop dram. He’s one of those guys. And apparently all those problems have finally gotten to the point where he can no longer control it because he’s voluntarily checked himself into rehab. Blabbermouth reports:

In a statement released late last night VELVET REVOLVER‘s management confirmed that Weiland “voluntarily entered a rehab facility” following the band’s February 6 performance in Los Angeles. As a result, Thursday night’s scheduled performance in San Diego was cancelled.

Well this guy obviously has problems so let’s hope he can get better. Good luck to him while he’s in rehab and hey, if he’s at the Cirque Lodge, maybe he’ll meet up with Drunkst and they’ll become a happy couple? That would be interesting.

Scott Weiland’s Wife Burns $10,000 of His Clothes

Scott Weiland

When you read this story, you sort of want to call Mary Weiland a crazy biatch but then you realize she’s married to a guy in a band, thus making her anger very understandable. Plus, Scott Weiland, frontman for Velvet Revolver, had been arrested for spousal abuse in the past. So all I’m saying is that he probably is no victim or angel.

The wife of Velvet Revolver frontman Scott Weiland was arrested this weekend after cops say she torched the rocker’s $10,000 wardrobe in front of the couple’s home in Toluca Lake, Ca.

According to police, 31-year-old Mary Weiland was booked for investigation of felony arson vandalism after cops responded to a “female burning clothes” call late Saturday evening.

The couple’s two kids were placed in the custody of family friends.

Weiland was booked at a Burbank police station just after midnight Sunday morning and was released after posting $50,000 bail three hours later.

The arrest came only hours after the couple was kicked out of the Graciela Hotel in Burbank following a ferocious argument that left Weiland’s room in shambles and blood on the linens, as TMZ exclusively reported. The hotel is pressing charges against the Weilands for the damage they caused.

Whatever. If no one was hurt, then what’s the big deal? Clothes are just items that can be replaced. I’m guessing girlfriend had reasons to go crazy.

Do you think Scott Weiland had it coming or was his wife in the wrong?
