Jennifer Aniston in Hawaii on Set of “Just Go With It” with Adam Sandler and Nicole Kidman

Here are some candids of Jennifer Aniston in Maui on Tuesday filming scenes with Adam Sandler and Nicole Kidman for their new movie Just Go With It. According to IMDb, Just Go With It is about “A man [enlisting] the help of a woman and her kids to land the woman of his dreams.” Oh gee, Jennifer Aniston doing another romcom. Shock. Since she’s pretty much Rachel Green in everything she does, this role doesn’t surprise me. Adam Sandler gets a free pass from me becuase I loved Funny People. But Nicole Kidman is a robot. A robot who is bad for movie ticket sales. You know what’s funny? She was in The Stepford Wives as a woman who rejects the idea yet in real life, she seems like a stepford wife. Well now that I think about it, it’s really not funny. It’s just weird. And creepy. Just like her, her red mop and that movie The Others.

Spiderman 3

It seems that Spiderman 3, despite less than mediocre reviews, soared at the box office. I wanted to go see it yesterday, but the movies are close to ten bucks a person, so I wanna go see stuff thats 1. not going to be insanely crowded full of loud people dressed in Spiderman gear and 2. good. So I think I’ll give Spidey 3 a few more days before I see it. I have to rationalize why a comic book movie (not normally up my alley) is worth ten dollars, you know? Anyway, Spidey owned the box office. I’m sure Kirsten Dunst is sitting somewhere, smoking weed, saying “I told you so and it’s because of yours truly.” I’m glad it did good, though, because I really like Tobey Macguire and Topher Grace. I’m not really feeling that dude from Wings, though.

Tobey Maguire bested Johnny Depp at the box office Friday. I’m told Spider-Man 3 beat Pirates Of The Caribbean 2 for the biggest U.S. opening day ever in film history. The threequel Friday shattered the $55.8 million mark set by P2 last year and took in $59 million. Based on the first day’s performance, the studio believes the film will delivers in the +/- range of $135 mil to $145 mil for its first three days of release. A better estimate will emerge Sunday morning when the studio will release its full report with exit surveys and international figures to date. In addition, Sony estimated that SM3 grossed approximately $104 million worldwide yesterday, the highest single day gross in global box office history. The film delivered $45 million Friday in overseas ticket sales. This opening weekend, SM3 will definitely make more than SM1 ($114.8 mil) or SM2 ($88.1 mil) at U.S. theaters. “Today’s early returns have been staggering,” an insider explained to me Friday night. That’s a whole lotta people and money! I wonder what the paychecks were like for the actors in this movie? Hmm. If you see it, let me know how it is!

Luke Wilson & Kate Beckinsale in “Vacancy”

Vacancy

So I’m not one to write movie reviews, generally because I have a weird taste in movies–anything scary but not torture, comedies but not slaptick, weird but not too weird. I really wanted to see Vacancy when I saw the trailers for it, but I wasn’t sure how good it would be. Luke Wilson has a track record of having the same acting manner in a lot of his roles. I really liked him in The Royal Tennenbaums, but other than that, I’ve never thought he was hot and as an actor, he’s never really impressed me. And Kate Beckinsale, well, is alright. She’s a good actress, she’s pretty cute, but she isn’t anyone that really jumps out at you, you know? But the movie just appealed to me. Maybe cause I love scary movies, or maybe the whole creepy-hotel thing looked fun–either way, I saw it tonight.

I loved it! The movie was only an hour and twenty minutes! That’s pretty short but it ended up being perfect because it ended at the right time.. nothing got drug out, like you often see in movies (cough, cough.. Identity). And, to my surprise, Luke Wilson did a great job! He put on some weight.. whether it was for this movie I don’t know.. but he looked so good! Very sexy and did a great job in the movie. Kate Beckinsale did a great job with her American accent and, as usual, did a great job acting. I was pleasantly surprised. There weren’t really any slow parts and there wasn’t anything in it to suggest a crappy sequel. Just a flat out, good, suspense/thriller movie. If you like scary movies, I suggest you see this one!

Oh and, if you’ve ever seen the movie Swimming With Sharks starring Kevin Spacey, you probably remember the guy the boss always picks on–Frank Whaley. He was great in that movie and he’s resurfaced and did a great job in Vacancy. But it is probably easy for some guys to play a creep.. right?

Here’s a blurb about the movie:

In the new thriller Vacancy, Luke Wilson and Kate Beckinsale star as David and Amy Fox, a young couple stranded out in the middle of nowhere after their car breaks down. Checking into the only hotel in the area, they find nothing to do except watch TV. Strangely, however, the low-budget slasher flick they watch turns out to have been filmed in the exact room in which they’re staying. And when they discover hidden cameras surrounding them and filming their every move, it appears that they are the new stars of another grisly movie, already in production. (Source)

So here are some pictures below of Kate Beckinsale and Luke Wilson. They’re both hot and now I have crushes on them. Go see the movie and tell me what you think! I can’t wait for it to come out on DVD.

Ocean’s 13

oceans 13

I didn’t see Ocean’s 12, but it’s somewhere on my Netflix list. I did, however, see Ocean’s 11 and I really liked it. Funny story–true story–My girlfriend and I went to Vegas when we were only 18 so we couldn’t really do anything. We walked through nice hotels all day and went shopping, but we couldn’t gamble or drink so we pretty much had nothing to do but go sight-seeing. This was back in 2003, about the time the first film of this series came out, and it was filmed at the Bellagio in Vegas. So we got up early one morning and went down to the Bellagio, walking around for hours, talking pictures of where Brad stood in one scene, where Julia Roberts was in that other scene, where Matt Damon was talking to George Clooney at the beginning, blah blah blah. We were getting so excited because we were seeing all these places that we had seen in the movie–not something we got to do a lot. And since we were big into celebs, even back then, we got even more excited. We spent literally five hours at the Bellagio. Then some old man, who lived in Vegas and was retired, came up to us and asked if we were talking about the movie, Ocean’s 11. We said yes, and then he broke us to pieces: “You know that wasn’t really filmed inside the Bellagio, right? There were some scenes filmed outside, in front of the water show, but nothing inside. It was a different hotel and a lot of fake sets.” God, we were so disappointed. I don’t even think we got our little disposable cameras developed after that. (Hey, it was before the digital era, ok?) Anyway, Ocean’s 13 is coming out this summer. Here’s a blurb on what is it about:

Ocean’s 13 finds Danny (George Clooney), Rusty (Brad Pitt) and co. on a mission to mete out revenge against a ruthless casino owner (Al Pacino) responsible for forcing Reuben (Elliot Gould) out of the biz. Along the way Linus (Matt Damon) falls for an attractive older woman (Ellen Barkin), the boys join forces with longtime nemesis Terry Benedict (Andy Garcia) and Danny cries during ‘Oprah.’ (Source)

The cast is BIG. I want to see it just for the hot, older men. Screw those young guys! The older actors, with their gray hair and five o’clock shadows–that’s where it’s at, I’m telling you. Andy Garcia is a hottie. But so is George Clooney. I wonder if Angie is making an appearance, cause of Brad? I’m not holding my breath.

“Perfect Stranger” Movie Premiere

Perfect Stranger Premiere

The new thriller, Perfect Stranger, starring Halle Berry and Bruce Willis, looks pretty good. But with a tagline like “How far would you go to keep a secret?”.. how could it not be pure gold?!

The movie is about a journalist named Rowena (Berry) who goes undercover to ferret out a lucrative businessman, Harrison Hill (Willis), as her best friend’s killer. She poses as one of his temps to get closer to him. It ends up being “a game of online cat-and-mouse.” (Source)

Here is a review of the movie, from a regular person who is a user on Internet Movie Data Base. I think it’s honest, but I haven’t seen the flick yet, either.

I watched Perfect Stranger at a preview at my local theater this past weekend, and next to the scantily clad Halle Berry, there was no reason to go watch this movie. There’s nothing wrong with movies with twists in them as long as they’re done with thought, taste, and creativity. The problem in this movie is that the writers have all the freedom in the world to guide the viewers mind and place where the twists lie. It is too easy for the writers to trick the audience, and to some audience members, the simple trick in itself is good enough to make the movie “great.” Well, this doesn’t cut it for me. I want a movie that connects, makes me think, has me connect with a character, or even teach me something for that matter. Perfect Stranger lacked meaning, taste, and creativity and is just another one of those “movies with a twist.” FYI: The movie was a long advertisement with way too much product placement. Even if the movie does bomb, the movie industry would have made up for the loss in the amount of advertising they put in the movie.

Well anyway, if you see the film let me know what you think of it. Like I said above, I haven’t seen it but what I do know is that Halle Berry looks about a gillion times better with long hair. It’s like she’s a whole new lady. And I’m feeling the peacock looking dress. She knows how to keep it funky.
