Sad news. Heath Ledger and Michelle Williams have broken up, according to sources at Us Weekly. Heath and Michelle met on the set of Brokeback Mountain, the movie which earned Michelle a Best Supporting Actress nomination at the Academy Awards. The couple was engaged to get married and have a daughter together, Matilda Rose Ledger, who celebrates her second birthday on October 28th. A source who knows the couple says,

“The relationship had been rocky recently. They tried very hard to make it work but finally decided to separate. They just grew apart.”

I don’t know why this news saddens me so much but it does. This, in my world, is like hearing Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston broke up… all over again. I just really like these two. I think they might be a little odd, but they’re both great actors. Remember when Michelle was the slutty girl on Dawson’s Creek? And everyone on that showed used words nobody uses in real life and talked like they were 30 when they were supposedly 15. That show was so lame. I miss it.

Heath Ledger recently did an interview with Newsweek about his nudity scenes, his upcoming roles, and his possible marriage to actress and baby mama Michelle Williams.

We try not to talk about it, to keep it our own kind of thing. It’s obviously very sacred. People write stories regardless. The stories haven’t necessarily been bad. So we’re letting people run with their assumptions.
