Mariah Carey is definitely one of those “I don’t needa man cause I’m a strong woman” types and she pretty much has been for the last ten years. I know she was married before but it seems like since then she’s really been making it on her own. As you all know, I’m a lifelong fan of Mariah Carey and her music. I know she was crazy at one point, and that she’s really over-the-top, and she can’t act worth a damn, but she makes some really good soul music, I must say.

Access Hollywood is reporting that Mariah is engaged to funny man Nick Cannon. I say funny man because I know he’s got that stupid ass show Wild & Out on MTV but the truth is, he annoys the shit out of me. He thinks he is more awesome than he really is. I hope they’re not engaged. I want Mariah to get back together with Derek Jeter!

A source close to Mariah has confirmed to Access Hollywood that the music diva is engaged to Nick Cannon.

Reps for both singers were unavailable for comment.

The couple sent the rumor mill into overdrive when 38-year-old Mariah (with Nick on her arm) was seen sporting a dazzling new piece of bling on her ring finger at the after party for her Tribeca film, “Tennessee,” in New York.

When asked at the party what he loved about Mariah, 27-year-old Nick gave a one-word answer.

“Everything,” he told People.

Well if it’s true I hope she makes him sign a pre-nup. Yeah, I know he’s got money but not as much money as the Butterfly princess does!

Dang! Mariah Carey is looking really good these days.  She’s lost a lot of weight but she also looks like she’s really been going to the gym and eating right–not starving herself like some other celebrities.  I give her props. The whole “short, tight dress and cropped coat” look really works for her, too. Those dresses must be magical because that’s all she wears these days and they are really making her look even better. Mariah has always been a favorite of mine, ever since I got my first CD. I love all her music and when you’re going through tough times, she’s got a lot of stuff you can relate to. So I’m happy to hear that Mariah’s new single “Touch My Body” has hit #1 on Billboard Singles. (I hate that song, but I like Mariah!) This is her 18th single to hit number 1, putting her second only to The Beatles, beating out Elvis. What an accomplishment. Congratulations to her!

Here is Mariah Carey shopping at Van Cleef & Arpels on Rodeo Drive yesterday. It must be nice to shop for huge diamonds while drinking champagne and being rich and beautiful! I’m jealous. Mariah is looking really good lately. She looks like she has legitimately thinned down and toned herself, and its totally working for her! This should be inspiration to Britney Spears because, even though Mariah was never physically as nasty and careless as Britney Spears is right now, Mariah had a meltdown a handful of years ago and everyone was calling her crazy but look at her now! First let me say that I really like Mariah Carey. I’m not saying she isn’t a diva because she most definitely is. But she’s got a great voice and she’s not afraid to be who she is. I think she likes to get photoshopped but hey, who the hell doesn’t you know?

Anyway, Mariah Carey was at VH1′s “Save The Music Foundation” party and she was drinking. I don’t know if she was drunk but she had to use the restroom. She wanted to use the bathroom in peace. I get that.

Two women already there say her security tried to evict them, but they refused to leave. Says one: “One of the bodyguards said to us, ‘If you’re going to stay, you better not watch Mariah pee.’”

I’m not saying its cool for celebrities to kick regular people out of anywhere, but I am saying celebrities probably do have to worry about people taking pictures of them and trying to exploit them like, ALL THE TIME.

I think Mariah is a little over-the-top but in this case I can’t really say I blame her. And hey, since when has it been a crime to ask someone NOT to watch you go pee? I think it would’ve been worse if she would’ve asked the ladies TO watch, am I right or what?
