Elton John had an Oscar party, like he always does. And after looking through the pictures from the turn out and watching the Oscars last night, it seems like the big name celebrities were sort of missing this year. Granted, they probably didn’t make any good movies but still. Where were Ben Affleck, Julia Roberts, Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, Jennifer Garner, Jennifer Aniston, Vince Vaughn, Robert Downey Jr, Jude Law, Hugh Jackman, Benicio Del Toro, Emily Blunt… I mean, where were all the celebrities that make you take notice? Yes, a few of my favorites (Kate Winslet, Colin Firth) were at the Oscars and yes a few of my favorites (but not super famous) celeb’s went to Elton’s (Michelle Rodriguez, Christina Hendricks) but it just seemed a bit blah this year. The Vanity Fair party had a little better turn out (Natalie Portman, Hilary Swank) but still a bit lack luster. Seems like Jimmy Kimmel gets more famous people in his sketches than the Oscars and after parties combined! Pics of celebrities partying after Oscar night below.

I really like Jessica Simpson. I think she’s a decent singer (considering the “good” singers in her genre), she has great fashion sense, she has a great shoe line and I love her latest perfume. I think she’s down-to-earth and honest, which I like very much in a celebrity. WITH THAT SAID… this dress was not part of her typically good fashion instinct. It’s nothing more than a glittery sack and it makes her look like a lump of potatoes with no neck! What she was thinking when she got that dress on I have no idea but it’s terrible. Her hair is looking good–color, cut and style wise–but overall her appearance at the Fashion Footwear Association of New York’s “Shoes on Sale” Event was a miss.

Tony Romo dumped his girlfriend of two years, Jessica Simpson, a couple weeks ago on her birthday. As if that wasn’t classy enough, now he’s issued a “red alert” outside the gates of his home that notifies his security guards that she is not allowed in. Isn’t this a bit much? I mean, even if she did threaten to come to his house and kill him, doesn’t he realize she’s like, five feet tall and he’s a huge football player who could easily hold her down until cops could come arrest her? Anyway, she wouldn’t do that because she cares too much about the tabloids. To me this whole “red alert” thing is completely mean. Here’s what the sign outside his house apparently says.

“RED ALERT!!! TONY ROMO HAS MADE SOME CHANGES TO HIS LIST OF PEOPLE ALLOWED IN….JESSICA IS NO LONGER ON THE LIST AND NOT APPROVED FOR ACCESS.”

Jessica Simpson should do an interview with a magazine and when they ask her about the alert, she should laugh like she thinks he’s stupid. You know that would totally get to him.

Apparently these are the first pictures of Jessica Simpson since her boyfriend of 2 years (I can’t believe it was that long) Tony Romo broke up with her. I guess she’s going to that whole Goldie Hawn-in-Death Becomes Her thing (minus the potion) where she shapes up to get her ex-husband back. I wonder if Nick Lachey is interested? I bet down the road they will get back together. I sort of want them to just to burn Vanessa Minnillo. More pics of Jessica leaving the gym below.

This year Jessica Simpson allegedy got dumped by Tony Romo on her birthday because John Mayer had been sending her naughty text messages. So her birthday was ruined. And apparently Jessica always has shitty birthdays. A couple of years ago when she was dating John Mayer, he couldn’t be with her on her birthday so he sent her a DVD of himself in concert and she watched it on loop all night. Pathetic. But you know what? Celebrities have “birthdays” nearly everyday what with their shopping sprees and special treatment.. so who really cares about their real birthdays? And John Mayer: quit being in love with yourself. Jessica: quit being a pathetic mess. You’re hot… put it to good use!

At the AT&T National Golf Tournament in DC yesterday, Jessica Simpson sang the National Anthem. I guess the singing wasn’t that bad (you can listen to it here) but I gotta say, she’s looking pretty husky. Maybe the skin-tight open-back knee-length sweater dress with bad stripes is to blame but based on the size of her arms and face, she’s just slowly giving up. I mean, that close up of her face is completely hideous. Do I see food in her teeth? Now that Nick is single again maybe she should dump Tony and come to her senses? Then they could fade into their place–obscurity–together.
