I’m not sure how this is news at all, but I am running out of things to write about this morning so somehow this piece of gossip made the cut. Seriously, don’t ask me how.

Some producer guy named Ryan Kavanaugh who is apparently buddies with Jake, is telling people that Jake loves Reese. I’m sure Jake is loving that this guy is a big-mouth whoring him out to the tabloids but what can he do, really? Here’s what good old Ryan told People:

“[Jake] has obviously had his fair share of dating,” Kavanaugh says of Gyllenhaal’s romantic life. “I think eventually you come to a place where you know what you want and seeing what we saw on the set, he was certainly completely devoted to her and really loves her.”

Can what you see on the set really be trusted?  I mean, everyone thought Brad Pitt was cheating on Jennifer Aniston on the set of Mr. and Mrs. Smith because he was photographed hugging Angelina Jolie but look how that—ehh, ha, um, bad example. Okay, maybe Jake does love Reese but really, who cares? I can’t believe I just spent 5 minutes writing about this. Give me drama! Give me break-ups! Give me sex tapes! Anything but this crap.

Why wouldn’t Ryan give his ex-wife Reese Witherspoon and her current boyfriend, Jake Gyllenhaal, his blessing? I mean, everyone knows that Ryan cheated on Reese with Abbie Cornish so he’s got no reason to not be happy for her. I bet he is such an insufferable prick that he just drove Reese away. She probably didn’t even want to be that big of a movie star but the only alternative was staying home with him all day. I bet he could never stand that she made way more money than he did. What a jerk.

Anyway, he told Howard Stern via radio that he is happy for Reese and Jake and that he likes Jake very much. I wonder if Reese is happy for Ryan and Abbie? Doubt it. I bet Ryan will go broke and fug within a couple of years. Seriously. Here’s what Ryan said:

“He’s a good dude. I love her and I want her to be happy, and it seems like she is.”

The 33-year-old added that his split from Witherspoon was a “mutual” decision. He said,

“Leading up to it, we had been spending so much time apart. That’s a huge part of it. There are so many obstacles.”

There are so many obstacles? You not being able to be happy for Reese because you’re so jealous is an obstacle. You not being able to keep it in your pants is also an obstacle. I love that Ryan tries to play it off like it wasn’t a big deal, though. I don’t think Reese is an angel, but I bet Ryan is such a bitch. Seriously.

Kirsten Dunst, ever since I saw her in that movie The Virgin Suicides, really strikes me as someone who’s always bitching about something and always finds a reason to be depressed. You know those people, right? The ones who can’t be happy about anything and are always giving you a pissed off look for no reason. That’s how I imagine Kirsten Dunst to be. And now that’s she has been in rehab, I know she’s an alcoholic so throwing that juicy tidbit in the mix only reinforces my vision of her. There’s a rumor that the reason that snaggle tooth is always depressed is that she’s still  not over her ex-boyfriend, Jake Gyllenhaal. Kirsten was always a partier but when she got dumped the partying increased (just like every normal chick in her twenties, though). Us Weekly says that’s how she got to start drinking a bit too much.

“Whenever the cast and crew were out, she was the center of the group – doing shots and encouraging everyone to drink,” a source on her upcoming movie How to Lose Friends & Alienate People told Us. “There was no such thing as ‘just the one’ for her.”

Love makes you do crazy things. Namely drink, I’d say. Let’s hope this rehab works for her so when she gets clean she’ll come to her celebrity senses and start putting all these magazines on blast for trying to guess what her problems are. Oh and you know she totally will. She lives for the dram!

Heath Ledger’s sudden death has been especially tough on his good friend – and Brokeback Mountain costar – Jake Gyllenhaal.

The actor, who is godfather to Ledger’s two-year-old daughter Matilda, has been devastated by last week’s news. Says one Gyllenhaal friend, “Jake is taking this harder than most people.”

Nowhere is that more apparent than on the New Mexico set of Gyllenhaal’s latest movie, Brothers.

“This has had a strong personal effect on [Jake],” says a set source. The insider adds that Gyllenhaal left the set immediately after learning of Ledger’s Jan. 22 death – but he flew back on a commercial flight to shoot an additional scene on Thursday.

“He was there, but he wasn’t with us. It was obviously a major trauma,” says the movie source. “These guys were very close. [Jake] was sitting in the director’s chair staring off into space.”

Gyllenhaal has been off since shooting that scene, and was photographed Saturday looking subdued with girlfriend Reese Witherspoon in Los Angeles. Set sources say director Jim Sheridan is shooting around the grieving actor during his personal leave.

The 27-year-old’s somber mood is a sharp contrast to the happier times on the set of Brothers. During one intense early prison scene, Gyllenhaal jokingly reached into his pocket and took out a picture of his Brokeback beau to stick on the prison wall. “Like those prisoners put [loved ones] on the wall, but Jake’s was Heath Ledger,” one set source recalls. “That was hilarious. It was a nice moment.”

The source adds, “When you think back on it now, it’s touching.”

I don’t know how this is any sort of breaking news, but somehow it is. People Magazine is reporting that Jake Gyllenhaal and his girlfriend Reese Witherspoon have been spotting in Napa Valley together on a mini-vacation.

As PEOPLE reports in its latest issue, Witherspoon, 31, and Gyllenhaal, 26, checked into the Carneros Inn in the Napa Valley last Sunday, and went on to spend a cozy 24-hours in one of the resort’s private homes.
“They were very affectionate with one another,” says an onlooker. “They were cuddling, and he kept giving her little kisses.”

The two even bailed on a couples massage in favor of an evening in, the source says, adding, “It was clear they wanted to be left alone.”

Um, aren’t couples allowed to go on vacation together? I think so. People are just surprised by this news because its still hard to believe these two are a couple, I think. I mean, I hope they’re happy but a part of me always thought Jake was gay and that Reese would be his shopping buddy. I was wrong! I’m glad they’re together and I hope they’re happy and I hope they can stay out of the tabloids for a while and just enjoy each other. As for Ryan Phillippe, well, karma is a bitch and you should’ve treated Reese better! (I’m going to eat those words later if we find out he wasn’t as big of a jerk as I thought!)
