Academy Award winner Charlize Theron is probably the hottest South African I’ve ever seen. Actually, she’s probably the only South African person I’ve knowingly seen, so, I guess that’s not saying much.

Here she is arriving at her hotel in Paris, France the other day. As much as I usually bag on everyone, I must say she looks phenomenal. And (fun fact), did you know that she is the first person hailing from an African country to win an Academy Award for acting? True. In 2003 she won the Oscar for Best Actress for her portrayal of serial killer Aileen Wuornos in Monster. She and longtime boyfriend Stuart Townsend ended their 6 year relationship in January.

A bunch of celebrities turned out for the Movies Rock: A Celebration of Music in Film  event. Pregnant Jennifer Lopez was there and so was her husband. Doesn’t she look huge? I swear she’s pregnant with triplets or something! Carrie Underwood was there and she was looking beautiful as always. Kate Hudson was also there. She always seems to look exactly the same, all the time. Her hair, her facial expressions, her body.. nothing changes on her. The event looked fun, nonetheless, and everyone seemed to be having a really good time. I’m jealous!

InTouch Weekly has put together a lame list of the 10 Most Shocking Hollywood Secrets and none of them are shocking and only half of them should be considered “secrets” but whatever. The only one that jumped out at me was the blurb about Charlize Theron and even then it was more sad than shocking.

On June 21, 1991, Charlize Theron’s dad returned to their South African home after a long night of drinking. “My dad had a disease,” Charlize, 32, says. “He was an alcoholic.” Charlize says her dad never physically harmed her, but admits “he was a verbal abuser.” So when he fired a shotgun into the then 15-year-old’s bedroom, her mom, Gerda, shot and killed her husband. The court ruled it self-defense. “If my daughter was in the same situation, I’d do the same thing,” admits Charlize.

That’s some pretty heavy stuff. Interesting crap, huh? I didn’t think so.

Finally! News I am happy about! Esquire Magazine has chosen Charlize Theron as the world’s sexiest woman. I think it’s a good choice. I think Charlize Theron is beautiful, partly because she’s a great actress, partly because she’s nice to look at, and partly because she isn’t a tabloid sleeze who is always needing attention! It’s a fresh of breath air when you’re watching her in an interview. Part of me is thinking that Paris Hilton was expecting to win this! Ha! I’m just glad the magazine didn’t chose Angelina Jolie again. Enough of her, thanks to Esquire for choosing Charlize!

If my boyfriend told me that he thought of me as his wife and that we didn’t need to officially be married, I’d break up with his ass. I’d suspect he didn’t really love me, he thought we may have breaking up in our future, or that he was a selfish prick. And all three would probably be true.

Charlize Theron, on the other hand, is probably the one who told Stuart Townsend, her long-time boyfriend, that she didn’t want to get married. She probably tricked him into believing she didn’t want to get married by saying she didn’t want to be in tabloids and stuff, but really just isn’t sure where her life is going to take her. If that’s true, she pulled it off. Stuart seems happy with the “no real marriage” stuff. He said,

“I didn’t do a church wedding or anything, but we’re married. We’re husband and wife. We love each other and we want to spend our lives together. We didn’t have a ceremony, I don’t need a certificate or the state or the church to say otherwise. So no there’s no big official story on a wedding, but we are married. … I consider her my wife and she considers me her husband.”

This is like Hilary Swank and her man all over again. Well, I guess congratulations to them for making no real commitment and trying to pawn it off as marriage. The rest of us really get married but whatever.

Charlize Theron is pretty. She’s a great actress and I think she’s unique. With that said, she’s got the completely wrong attitude for motherhood. No, I’m not a mother, but I can tell you if your main concern with getting pregnant is being fat then you need to think a little harder about why you want to get pregnant in the first place. Maybe she is just super into her looks? She could be the next to adopt. Heres what the actress had to say about motherhood:

“Getting pregnant doesn’t excite me, but having kids does. I know I’ll be a mother one day. It’s just that I don’t really want to look like a whale. But I’m sure the idea of something growing inside you is pretty powerful.”

When you put it like that, pregnancy does seem pretty powerful, doesn’t it? I bet Nicole Richie doesn’t understand fully whats happening. She’s like, “This attention is totally awesome and being pregnant means I get to wear cute clothes. Yay!” But does she know she’s forever going to be raising another human? I bet not.
