The initial report stated that there was no foul play in Brittany Murphy’s death. The detailed report was just released yesterday and it also says there was no foul play. But it says Brittany was on a shitload of prescription and OTC drugs. Her husband, Simon Monjack, went out of his way to make sure people knew that Brittany “has NEVER, and I repeat NEVER done drugs” but does he know that prescription pills are probably worse than a little coke and weed? Shit, had she been doing lines of coke and shooting heroin there’s a greater likelihood that she would still be here. Instead she took mounds of prescription pills. Friends who knew the late actress say she had a prescription pill problem for the last few years. Sad!

The drugs found in her system at the time of her death:

Propranolol (a sedative), Hydrocodone (a morphine-like pain killer), Phenazopyridine (pain killer generally taken after surgery), Fluoxetine (aka Prozac), Dextromethorphan (in some doses it’s cough syrup, in others it’s a hallucinogenic), Chlorpheniramine (allergy medicine), and methamphetamines (methamphetamines).

Hum. That’s a lot of crap to be taking for the flu and menstrual cramps. I guess he’s  just trying to protect her image. Or he’s trying to make it seem like she was an angel so he can cash in on her “angelic memory” via some fundraiser or something. Either way.

Sources say the primary causes of Murphy’s death were pneumonia and severe anemia. L.A. County Coroner officials believe Brittany’s condition was “treatable” but no one took her to the hospital in time.

As for the multiple drugs found in her system, we’re told they were both prescription, including medicine for cramps, and over-the-counter medications, including cough syrup. Our sources say the drugs “pushed her over the line” but the underlying problems were the pneumonia and anemia.

In other words, Brittany was really sick, didn’t get treatment and by self-medicating it pushed her over the line.

The Uptown Girls actress went into full cardiac arrest in her Los Angeles home this morning and was pronounced dead on the scene when paramedics arrived.  She had been complaining of flu-like symptoms the day previous to her death. She was found by her mother in the shower, vomiting and unconscious. No foul play is suspected.

Brittany was just 32 years old and is survived by her husband, Simon Monjack. She starred in such films as Clueless, 8 Mile, Don’t Say A Word, and Sin City. She is probably best known for her romantic relationship with actor Ashton Kutcher and the movie they filmed together, Just Married. She is also popular for her voice of Luanne Platter in the animated series King of the Hill.

This is the first time I’ve ever written about Brittany Murphy so it’s disappointing that I don’t have better things to say about her. First, here she is at Sundance at an event for Rock the Vote. She looks good. I mean, she’s really little and thin, so that’s hard to eff up. On top of that, she always looks pretty cute. But she’s married to that guy in the thumbnail below and I just don’t understand why.

I know there’s more to a relationship than looks but in Hollywood, that’s rarely the case. Anytime you see a fug guy with a hot girl, you’ve got to wonder how much she’s getting paid to be married to him for a couple of years. I hope that’s not the case for her, either, cause there are plenty of normal, young dudes out there that I’m sure would love to date her!
