Is sexy songstress Ashanti‘s new video for her song “Way That I Love You” a kiss-off to rumored boyfriend Nelly? After all, in the video, a knife-wielding Ashanti gets sweet revenge on a cheating ex.

Ashanti says, “It’s not!” She explains, “I wrote that record last summer … The song is just about real life. It’s for every woman who has gone through it.”

But that doesn’t mean the songbird hasn’t experienced the heartache of a good relationship gone bad due to infidelity. “Definitely,” says Ashanti, who turns to Mary J. Blige‘s “Not Gonna Cry” to help her through breakups. “It’s a rude awakening when you get used to being happy, but it’s a part of life. I didn’t kill the person!”

Some of the song’s lyrics do ring true, though. “Of course I’ve snooped! Before [sidekicks] came out, I was snooping through regular cell phones, Skytel, everything! Whatever he had out, I was all in it!”

And as for the current status of her relationship with Nelly? “We’re really, really good friends.”

Since I’ve been sick the last two days with a nasty cold, I didn’t really get to do anything the last couple of days. Plus, I didn’t want to. I laid on the couch drinking juice, blowing my nose in paper towel (we don’t have any tissues) and watching Nip/Tuck on DVD. I didn’t even know the 2007 American Music Awards were on but I have to say, even if I did know, I probably still wouldn’t have watched them cause I don’t care. Have you ever heard of the Master Cleanser Detox? Well, I think I once wrote about it a really long time ago because Beyonce did it. In case you don’t remember, let me tell you a little about it.

When you’re on the Master Cleanser Detox diet, you drink a mix of lemon, maple syrup, cayenne pepper, and water. You drink this all day and you aren’t allowed to eat anything. You also drink a mixture in the morning and at night, consisting of salt water and laxative tea, to speed up your metabolism and give you energy. No solid food! Yuck!

If you’re wondering how this diet works, it’s simple: when you’re not taking in that many calories and not eating real food, you lose weight. Duh! If you’re thinking of doing it, though, you might want to ask Michael of Dlisted. He did it and DID NOT like it.

Okay so Ashanti did this diet for a week and lost 8 pounds. That’s a lot of weight for one week! She said not only did she lose the weight but she kept it off.

“I did the lemon-pepper-maple syrup diet for seven days. When I got really hungry, I ate fruit. I lost eight pounds and kept it off.”

Hey, isn’t eating fruit cheating? I think so. Of course, I could never just drink a shitty drink all day, that’s for sure. Give me a semi-healthy Jamba Juice with low calories and I could do that, maybe. But not cayenne pepper and syrup. Sick!

Ashanti was losing weight to promote her movie, Resident Evil: Extinction. Ashanti is still chubby looking, so I’m not sure when the picture in this post was taken. Anyway, good for her I guess.

Here is a list of the winners from tonights Video Music Awards that were on MTV. It’s funny because I was worried about missing Britney’s performance but all of my friends reassured me that MTV would play the program over and over for the next month. Then I read online that MTV said they were breaking that habit and decided they wouldn’t re-run the show. So, of course, I watched it. Then I read on the internet that on the East coast, it’s already being replayed. So if any of you guys missed the Britney Spears performance, it will be on again. No worries!
