80th Annual Academy Award Nominations

So the 80th Annual Academy Award nominations were announced this morning and I know personally I wasn’t surprised at all. Atonement got nominated for best picture but Keira Knightley was left out of the acting nominations, which doesn’t surprise me. Juno came through with multiple nominations, which makes me happy because the Oscars are usually given to heavy dram films and that’s getting old. Brad Pitt wasn’t nominated for that one Jesse James movie, and Angelina Jolie wasn’t nominated for any of her films. Serves them right! I hope they don’t even show up! I put a list of the more important nominations below, but if you’re interested in reading ALL of the nominations, you can read them here. So here are the good ones:

I say we make our bets now. I’m not ready to make any guesses because the only movie on the list that I’ve seen is Eastern Promises and I fell asleep through the first 45 minutes. Has anyone ever seen that, BTW? It’s chocked full of full-frontal male nudity. Seriously. I might go see Juno this weekend but in the event that I don’t, someone please tell me if it’s as awesome as it looks because I really do think it looks worth it. But until then, start making your predictions!

  1. Juno is fantastic. The acting is superb as is the dialogue, the cast has incredible chemistry and Ellen Page is amazing and beautiful. It is cute, funny, sad, and even beautiful in parts. I’m in love with the movie. Definately go see it.
